In today's increasingly polarised and fragmented world, an effective facilitator must possess self-reflexivity in order to moderate discussions among people with diverse values and backgrounds, through a process of looking at issues from a systemic perspective and unpacking layers of social and cultural constructs that influence how issues unfold.

Using drama techniques, this workshop teaches the essentials of critical facilitation, from listening, to questioning, to critical thinking and problem-solving.

Who should attend this workshop?

  • Social or community workers
  • Arts educators
  • Theatre practitioners

The course is designed for participants to learn

  • What is Critical Pedagogy
  • Vulnerable Listening - what and how to be an empathetic listener
  • How to ask questions that will lead to critical understanding
  • What kind of space to create to allow for critical learning
