ARTivate
About ARTivate
ARTivate is the youth wing of Drama Box.
It was established in May 2007, with the aim of providing a platform for youths looking to explore and gain all-rounded insight into socially engaged theatre.
Through a three-year programme, ARTivate aims to nurture a new group of theatre practitioners into socially aware, sensitive and responsible youths of Singapore.
Based on Drama Box's philosophy and using an O–A–O–R (Orientation–Artistic–Organisation–Regeneration) approach, these youths are trained not only artistically but also in organisational skills and production management. Youths will also learn management skills, artistic planning, leadership, responsibility, co-ordination, financial management and administrative work.
Besides bringing about awareness, ARTivate hopes to question, probe or even challenge mindsets. Through their projects, ARTivate aims to engage the community in discussion and thereby transform monologues into dialogues.
